Our Custom Offroad Accessories designed and Australian made underbody protection bash plates will fit all Hilux models from 2016 to 2024 in the N80 range. The plates have been manufactured to use the existing holes that the standard plates bolts to and to work with all Bull Bars that retain the factory plate mounts.

Mild steel is great for short term usage 6 to 12 months. After various knocks Mild steel start to crack and rust over time. Stainless Steel is a far superior metal that endure a lot more hits and beach driving. The most popular setup is 3mm stainless, these plates great for general 4wding, will last you for years and give you piece of mind.

    Got the 3 piece, 3mm sections for my N80 to replace the old bent standards that came with the car. Heard from a mate that custom offroad do a stainless steel version and was stoked they had 10% off. So jumped on that.
    They have been put to good use for a month now and are worth their weight on gold. Just knowing that underneath the vehicle is very well protected now makes me feel more secure about going off road and hitting some harder tracks won’t cost me a fortune in repairs or getting stuck in the middle of nowhere because of a slip n slide rock hit.

    Compared to the stock front bash plate, the stock plate provides more cover and protection, also the bolts that come with the set aren’t stainless steel like the rest of the set causing them to rust in the future. other than that its a good plate.

    I got sick and tired of removing my factory bash plates to paint them and panel beat out a few dings. The idea of stainless bash plates is a nobrainer and the thicker 3mm ones offer much more protection and insurance. They lso seem to help retrieval in sand as there are no cross chassis members exposwd to dig into the sand. Great prompt service and delivery too.

Used a trolley jack to help hold transmission plate up whilst fitting, otherwise just lifted the rest by hand. Fitted perfectly with ARB Summit bullbar. Pretty straight forward to fit on your own but i’d recommend you have a set of ramps and a creeper. (I bought a cheap set from repco and that made it heaps easier as it’s pretty cramped even with a 2 inch lift on the hilux.)
    Instructions wouldn’t have hurt but it’s not too hard to work out what goes where.

    Recently upgraded from 2016 to 2021 Hilux dual cab. The 2 piece front and sump from my 2016 fitted straight onto the 2021 and I purchased the transmission plate as well.
    Good quality all round and good value.
    Only feedback I would give is that even though fitting is pretty straight forward, some instructions would be helpful. Also flush fitting allenhead screws would probably be better than the bolts supplied to avoid damage to the bolt heads. Lastly the transmission guard would be better if it extended a little further to protect the 4wd actuator.

Why do I need bash plates?

Underbody protection or “bash plates” are an essential part of every 4×4 setup. They are designed to protect the underside of the vehicle from any objects that could cause damage. Ultimately, protecting the underbody of your vehicle with reliable bash plates comes down to a simple cost-benefit trade-off. As avid off-roaders ourselves, we believe it’s far cheaper and easier to replace a bash plate once every several years than it is to replace parts of your vehicle every time they get hit.

Why choose Custom Offroad bash plates?

Our Aussie-made bash plates are designed to protect the underbody of your 4WD from all kinds of off-road hazards, including rocks, trees, and other debris, as well as rust and corrosion from salt water. Most vehicles come with a standard protection set-up that’s usually only 1.5mm thick or made from flimsy materials such as plastic. These standard protection plates can typically only handle one hit before they need to be replaced. 


As true 4WD enthusiasts, we wanted to create a product that would allow us to tackle even the toughest tracks without compromising the most vulnerable parts of our vehicles. That’s why all our bash plates are made from durable stainless steel and are a minimum of 3mm thick. Unlike other products on the market, these premium plates are designed to take hit after hit so your vehicle will make it through its 4×4 adventure every time. What thickness should I get?

The ideal thickness depends upon the vehicle and what kind of four-wheel driving you are doing most often. Thicker is not always better, since the plate needs to absorb as well as deflect any impact. For this reason, we’ve designed bash plates that are not only 3mm to 4mm thick but also have some flex in them as well. How do you ensure quality and durability?

A lot of products today (think TVs, fridges, and laptops) have a product lifetime designed into them. Is it in stock?

Our aim is to consistently maintain our stock levels so that we can get our plates to you as soon as poosible. However, in the event your plate is unavailable, the turnaround is generally between 1 to 2 weeks. This timeframe is well below the industry average as our plates are made right here in Brisbane, Australia!

What is a Diff Drop?

A diff drop is a modification that physically lowers your diff away from the chassis in order to bring the CV angles back into alignment and closer to the factory specifications. Ultimately, the reason for considering a diff drop is to minimise the CV shaft angle that is increased by the addition of a suspension lift. As a general rule, if you have lifted your suspension by at least 2 inches then you should consider dropping the diff!

Does it fit with my brand of Diff Drop/Bull Bar?

Our plates are designed to fit with a large range of bull bar setups. If your 4WD currently retains the factory plates, and has a bull bar installed, then our plates will fit. The majority of our bash plates support a diff drop, however, we advise you consult the individual product pages for more information regarding the make and model of the 4WD you wish to fit plates to.

Stainless or Mild Steel?

After countless 4wd trips the one thing I kept replacing the most was my underbody protection. Although they did get a good beating the main problem was the rust factor, especially from my love of beach driving.

My car would look great all polished and washed except for underneath that was bent out of shape and covered with surface rust. I designed a set out of stainless steel because of the resistance to corrosion and the strength to get a better, more durable life out of my bash plates.

The stainless steel comes in a 2b matte grey finish which holds up great against scratching and with the extra strength of the stainless I’ve tried my best to knock them out of shape with no success. If you are after a bash plate that you would like to put on and not have to change every 6 months stainless is the way to go.

What is the Weight of the Plates?

Built using high-quality stainless steel, our Bash Plates provide the perfect weight to strength ratio for your 4×4. As each Make and Model is different so too is the weight of each plate. However, as a general rule, a 3 piece set of 3mm thickness, usually weighs between 24kg & 30kg, while a 3 piece set of 4mm thickness, usually weighs between 35kg & 40kg.
