Not sure which material choose?

Mild steel is great for short term usage 6 to 12 months. After various knocks Mild steel start to crack and rust over time. Stainless Steel is a far superior metal that endure a lot more hits and beach driving. The most popular setup is 3mm stainless, these plates are great for general 4wding, will last you for years and give you piece of mind.

Bought the complete set for my 2015 STX, had some minor issues getting them to align as I was installing them solo, following the clear instructions helped immensely. Great product, nil issues and would recommend for your own vehicle. Provides peace of mind whenever you choose to go off road, even just that one time…

  11. Peter Francis (verified owner)

Great product which fitted perfectly. All bolt holes aligned which was unlike the other rubbish brand I purchased. Their plates had to be levered to align the holes & the first sand dune I hit bent the plates.

Finish was excellent & all laser cut edges were clean with no sharp edges.

  12. Dave (verified owner)

Fitted the front and sump protection plates to my 2015 NP300 with XROX bar, with little problems. Look great and seem to give great protection.

  14. Brodi Mundey (verified owner)

Awesome bit of gear. Easy to fit once you wrap your head around where the bolts go. Fit straight up to my arb bullbar. No issues at all, love it

  15. Heath (verified owner)

Product is great and service was as it should be. I sent a few questions about installation and they were answered same day. Unlike some other 4wd accessory retailers who apparently don’t care about your question once you have bought the product.

  16. Ian Goldney (verified owner)

I fitted a 3 piece 3mm stainless steel set of bash plates to my 2021 facelift Navara. The fit and finish of these plates is superb and looks very neat and solid once installed. Very pleased with the result and feel confident that they’ll provide more protection than I’ll ever need! Highly recommended.

  17. Barack Borkman

Got a bash plate for my NP300. Saved me countless times up Fraser. Still managed to give it a little bend, but my intercooler is still intact where as it would have been ripped out with the stock bash plate. Very happy with it. Also Simon was great help. Had a couple install questions and he was very helpful

Thank you for your purchase of the Np300 Bash Plates.

If you have purchased the Mild Steel plates, they need to be painted before fitting. If you have
purchased the Stainless Steel plates, make sure the plates fit before removing the protective film. If
your plates don’t fit or have any other problem, the protective film needs to stay in tacked in order
to receive a replacement set or a refund.

Please note there is a slight difference between Series 1,2 compared to 3,4. This difference is in the
cross member where the front and sump plate meet. The vehicle comes standard with only a front
plate, so it will be at the back of the front plate. There is 4 holes in the chassis, 2 x M6 bolt threads
and 2 x M8 bolt threads. In the series 3,4 Nissan has removed the M8 bolt threads leaving only the
M6 threads. This will not be strong enough to hold two bash plates that overlap. It is strongly
recommended to get M8 nurtserts in the chassis. This is like a pop rivet with a thread in the middle.
Front and Sump Plates

Start with the sump plate. This will go directly under the motor with the forks to the front. Line up
the front holes and use 2 x M6 bolts and 2x M8 bolts. The back of the plate will use the 2 outer
20mm holes. The 2 Spacers will go in between the plate and the cross member to fill the void. The 2
x M10 75mm bolts will go through the cross member and tighten with the nylon lock nut. The 4 back
holes are for the transmission plate to Bolt too. The front plate is simply using the bolts of the front
of the sump plate so the plates over lap and then bolting up the front holes. Front bolts may vary in
size due to different bull bars, factory mounts use M6 bolts.
Transmission Plate

The transmission plate will bolt to the sump plate using 4 x M10 20mm bolts and nylon lock nuts. It
then will use 2 x M10 75mm bolts to bolt through the transfer case cross member, similar to the
back of the front plate.

Thank You for your purchase

Why do I need bash plates?

Underbody protection or “bash plates” are an essential part of every 4×4 setup. They are designed to protect the underside of the vehicle from any objects that could cause damage. Ultimately, protecting the underbody of your vehicle with reliable bash plates comes down to a simple cost-benefit trade-off. As avid off-roaders ourselves, we believe it’s far cheaper and easier to replace a bash plate once every several years than it is to replace parts of your vehicle every time they get hit.

Why choose Custom Offroad bash plates?

Our Aussie-made bash plates are designed to protect the underbody of your 4WD from all kinds of off-road hazards, including rocks, trees, and other debris, as well as rust and corrosion from salt water. Most vehicles come with a standard protection set-up that’s usually only 1.5mm thick or made from flimsy materials such as plastic. These standard protection plates can typically only handle one hit before they need to be replaced.

As true 4WD enthusiasts, we wanted to create a product that would allow us to tackle even the toughest tracks without compromising the most vulnerable parts of our vehicles. That’s why all our bash plates are made from durable stainless steel and are a minimum of 3mm thick. Unlike other products on the market, these premium plates are designed to take hit after hit so your vehicle will make it through its 4×4 adventure every time. Be prepared; bash your plates and not the vulnerable areas of your 4WD.

What thickness should I get?

The ideal thickness depends upon the vehicle and what kind of four-wheel driving you are doing most often. Thicker is not always better, since the plate needs to absorb as well as deflect any impact. For this reason, we’ve designed bash plates that are not only 3mm to 4mm thick but also have some flex in them as well. If you are unsure which of our custom bash plates is right for you, we’d be happy to advise on what option would best suit your needs.
Check out our FAQ page or get in touch with us for more information about what kinds of plates are best for your vehicle.

How do you ensure quality and durability?

A lot of products today (think TVs, fridges, and laptops) have a product lifetime designed into them. They last a few years, and then stop working almost like clockwork so that you have to replace them with the latest model. At Custom Offroad, our bash plates and 4WD accessories are exactly the opposite of this. These premium plates are made out of tough stainless steel and are expertly designed to endure the toughest off-road conditions, prolonging the life of your 4×4 for years to come.

To ensure our bash plates can withstand the test of time, we prioritise quality during every stage of our design and manufacturing process, including our choice of materials. We know that stainless steel is preferable over other less durable materials such as plastic or aluminium, especially if you plan on doing any beach driving. That’s why we’ve created the ultimate stainless steel bash plates that hold up well against harsh conditions and highly corrosive elements such as salt water, ensuring the utmost quality and durability.

Do you provide after-sales support?

Yes! At Custom Offroad Accessories, we are constantly looking for new ways to improve our customer service and product offerings. We endeavour to find the best possible solutions for your particular needs and seek to maintain good customer relationships throughout the entire lifetime of our products. We want you to get the best possible use out of our bash plates, and encourage you to contact us with any questions, comments, or feedback you might have.

Is it in stock?

Our aim is to consistently maintain our stock levels so that we can get our plates to you as soon as poosible. However, in the event your plate is unavailable, the turnaround is generally between 1 to 2 weeks. This timeframe is well below the industry average as our plates are made right here in Brisbane, Australia!

What is a Diff Drop?

A diff drop is a modification that physically lowers your diff away from the chassis in order to bring the CV angles back into alignment and closer to the factory specifications. Ultimately, the reason for considering a diff drop is to minimise the CV shaft angle that is increased by the addition of a suspension lift. As a general rule, if you have lifted your suspension by at least 2 inches then you should consider dropping the diff!

Does it fit with my brand of Diff Drop/Bull Bar?

Our plates are designed to fit with a large range of bull bar setups. If your 4WD currently retains the factory plates, and has a bull bar installed, then our plates will fit. The majority of our bash plates support a diff drop, however, we advise you consult the individual product pages for more information regarding the make and model of the 4WD you wish to fit plates to.

Stainless or Mild Steel?

After countless 4wd trips the one thing I kept replacing the most was my underbody protection. Although they did get a good beating the main problem was the rust factor, especially from my love of beach driving.

My car would look great all polished and washed except for underneath that was bent out of shape and covered with surface rust. I designed a set out of stainless steel because of the resistance to corrosion and the strength to get a better, more durable life out of my bash plates.

The stainless steel comes in a 2b matte grey finish which holds up great against scratching and with the extra strength of the stainless I’ve tried my best to knock them out of shape with no success. If you are after a bash plate that you would like to put on and not have to change every 6 months stainless is the way to go.

What is the Weight of the Plates?

Built using high-quality stainless steel, our Bash Plates provide the perfect weight to strength ratio for your 4×4. As each Make and Model is different so too is the weight of each plate. However, as a general rule, a 3 piece set of 3mm thickness, usually weighs between 24kg & 30kg, while a 3 piece set of 4mm thickness, usually weighs between 35kg & 40kg.

Please consult the product page of the vehicle you’re interested in for an accurate weight for your make and model of 4×4.
